Lomi and Grandi (1997) address a very legitimate issue: namely, by what means can network concepts serve as useful tools for analyzing inter-organizational relationships.

One of the more interesting developments, perhaps, is provided by Håkansson and Waluszewski (2001) and Hoholm and Olsen (2012), who address the key role of frictions.
